Fidescope Consulting Group, LLC
Evidence-based consulting for juvenile justice agencies, youth-serving organizations, and educational institutions — grounded in 23 years of field practice and doctoral research.
"See clearly. Serve powerfully. Stay whole."
The Principal Consultant
"I spent 23 years in DC Superior Court watching what the system did to young people — and to the professionals trying to serve them. Fidescope exists because both deserve better."
Dr. Songu-Mbriwa is the founder of Fidescope Consulting Group, LLC and a practitioner-scholar with over two decades of direct experience in the District of Columbia juvenile justice system. Beginning as a Juvenile Probation Officer in DC Family Court in 2004 and rising to Supervisory Probation Officer, he brings a level of field authority that no textbook alone can produce — the authority of a man who has sat across from justice-involved youth, their families, and the systems that serve them for more than 23 years.
His 2024 doctoral dissertation at Grand Canyon University examined compassion fatigue and burnout among juvenile probation officers — one of the first qualitative studies to address the unique dual law enforcement and social work mandate these professionals carry. That research is the empirical foundation of Fidescope's practitioner wellness consulting practice.
A certified PeopleKeys Behavioral Consultant (CBC) and StudentKeys Specialist, SHRM-CP, and faculty member at Bard High School Early College and Prince George's Community College, Dr. Songu-Mbriwa brings the rare combination of street-level practice, doctoral-level research, and classroom-tested pedagogy to every engagement. Beyond the classroom, he currently serves on the Faculty Senate at Prince George's Community College and previously served on the College Wide Forum, contributing to institutional governance and academic policy at the college level. His consulting work is shaped by his conviction that the professionals who serve justice-involved youth deserve the same quality of support that they give to the young people in their care.
